1. Who We Are

Mailio is a temporary email service that lets you create disposable email addresses on the mailsio.uk domain and receive messages on them.

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Collect

If you sign in with Google:

• Your email address
• Your display name
• Your profile picture
• Your Google account identifier

We use this to link your addresses to your account so they're restored if you change devices.

If you use the app without signing in:

• A randomly generated recovery key
• A randomly generated device identifier

In this case, we have no way to identify who you are.

In all cases:

• The temporary addresses you create
• Messages received on them (sender, subject, content)
• A push notification token for your device
• Basic activity timestamps

3. What We Don't Collect

• Your Google account password (authentication happens directly with Google)
• Your contacts, photos, or files
• Your geographic location
• Any data from other apps on your device

4. Why We Collect It

• Running the service — receiving and delivering your messages
• Notifications — alerting you when a message arrives
• Sync — restoring your addresses when you sign in on another device
• Abuse prevention — detecting spam and policy violations

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to any third party.

To prevent the service from being used for spam or unlawful activity, our administrators can view basic message metadata (sender, subject, timestamp) without opening message content.

Message content is accessed only when a violation is suspected, and every such access is recorded in a permanent audit log along with the stated reason.

We rely on the following providers to operate Mailio. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Google Firebase — authentication and push notifications
• Cloudflare — email receiving and routing
• Render — server hosting
• Neon — database

Data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Frankfurt).

• Access — view all your data inside the app
• Deletion — delete any message or address at any time
• Account deletion — request full deletion of your account
• Appeal — if an address is suspended, submit a review request from within the app

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted, and database access is restricted. However, like any internet service, no system is 100% secure.

Important: Mailio is a temporary email service. Do not use it for anything sensitive such as banking details or official documents.

11. Children

This service is not directed at anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we discover such an account, we will delete it.

12. Acceptable Use

Mailio may not be used for:

• Sending or receiving unlawful content
• Fraud or impersonation
• Circumventing security systems on other websites
• Spam or harassment

Violations result in immediate account suspension.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance.
